What to Do Memorial Day Weekend on Kiawah Island

Kiawah Island Memorial Day Weekend

It is the time of year to get out and enjoy the warm weather! This long Memorial Day weekend gives us time to honor those we have lost in service to our country and also provides an opportunity to celebrate the beginning of the summer season with our friends and family.

Kiawah Island and the surrounding Charleston area offers a unique combination of American history and summer fun with beautiful beaches, gorgeous scenery and events for the entire family to enjoy during this three-day weekend.

FUN FACT: Did you know that one of the earliest observances of Memorial Day took place in Charleston, South Carolina? It was in Hampton Park.

As always, The Kiawah Island Golf Resort has an assortment of activities available, from paddle boarding and kayaking to wonderful dining experiences and even yoga on the beach! Don’t miss the weekend concert series that Freshfields Village is hosting on the green with Swingin Richards on Friday, May 23rd and then Tullamore Road on Saturday, May 24th. Learn more about the concert series event.

Based on local area weather forecasts, there is a large chance we will be seeing rain begin on Saturday that may last throughout the rest of the weekend.

WEATHER UPDATE: as of Saturday morning there has been a tropical storm warning and rip tide statement put into effect for the greater Charleston, South Carolina area. We urge everyone to be aware of the weather conditions over the weekend. Stay up to date with The Weather Channel.
